We are leaving Sunday Up Market on Sunday
26th August 2012.
Which will be the last trade there.
Which will be the last trade there.
Sono has been a permanent trader for years, so this was not a little decision.
This is something like big step or
"graduation".
However, this news doesn't mean that you
won't get to see Sono.
We will still be making a lot of exciting
products,
and this is actually the reason for leaving the market.
In order to make sparkly and cool stuff, this
decision has been made.
We are stepping on next stage.
In 2006, Sono started trial trade in
Portobello market.
Soon after, we started trading at Sunday Up Market in Brick
Lane.
We grew up with East London, Brick Lane and
Up Market.
Met so many people and so many things
during this time.
Good things and bad things, of course.
This moment in time was really priceless.
Brought us a big smile as well as some pains and tears.
It strengthened Sono so much.
It strengthened Sono so much.
This place, Up Market, was a part of Sono
and still remains its inside.
Brightly and truly.

When launched this small brand,
I only had
a strong passion towards fashion and big ambitions of
"Making clothes that lead people to be
in a little happier mood" and
aiming to be the fashion brand that mainly
concerns comfort/
feelings of people who actually wear it.
(Rather than thoughts of status, trend,
others point of view or just making money by copying)
I know this is resisting the current fashion
main stream,
but I just really wanted to explore how people can be more smiley
by communicating with their “Personal tailor/ stylist".
And this is Sono's philosophy.
We are just moving on with these great
memories. Slowly but positively.
There is some other way to see Ryoko's
works besides Sono.
Ryoko has been working for some design
company as a freelance
so you will see my works in the store. Some place in retailer and
catwalks.
Of course I promise to keep everyone
updated when a design has been released.
To keep everyone updated with all of the
news and happenings of Sono
we will keep uploading Website, e-shop, and
Facebook.
Also everyone is welcome to visit us at our
studio headquarters at Netil House.

Sonoは長年レギュラーでやってきたマーケットSunday Up
Marketを
2012年8月26日のトレードを最後に卒業します。
これはSonoに会えなくなるという告知ではありません。
さらに多くの笑顔と、わくわくするような作品を作って行くため、
Sonoは次のステージにいく決意をしました。そのお知らせです。
ポートベローマーケットを経て、2007年からSunday Up Marketで本格的にトレードを
はじめました。
東ロンドン、ブリックレーン、そしてマーケットと共に
Sonoは沢山の人や出来事に出会い、その経験を作品作りへのエネルギーに
転換しながら成長してきました。
痛みを伴う日々や幸せで涙しそうな日々など、どれ一つとして忘れ難い思い出です。
それは今も痛いほど熱く、Sonoの中に生きています。
このマーケットでの月日はSonoにとっての思春期だったといえます。
マーケットは文字通りSonoの一部でした。
私はSonoを立ち上げる際、
「１人でもいいから、着てくれる人が明るい気持ちになれる服を作りたい」
「着る人の気持ちや着心地を一番に考えたビジネスをしたい」
その一心で作品作りに取り組んできました。
そしてその姿勢は永遠に変わることはありません。
これからも、皆さんの「身近なパーソナルスタイリスト」として、
皆さんの大切な一日を彩れるブランドの１つでいられるよう努力を続けていきます。
このお知らせを「卒業」という言葉で表現したのは
あくまでもこれが新しいステージへの通過点なのだとお伝えしたかったからです。
なぜならSonoは変わらず進歩していくから。たとえ歩みが遅くても。
デザイナーRyokoはSonoの他にもフリーランスデザインをしながら、
様々な場所でデザインを通してみなさんにお会いできると信じています。
これからも新しい作品が出来るたびに更新していくので、
FB, E-shop, Websiteなど見に来てください。
クリスマスフェアなどもたくさんやっていきます。
